Fine, so I kind of lied about the weather in my previous post. It *was* getting nicer out but it has been raining and got a bit chilly out so back to temporary hibernation!

Just wanted to let all my readers know that during the past few weeks I hadn't blogged for two reasons: because my grandmother had to be admitted to the hospital for an infection on her leg and I have been since assisting her at home, and because I had suffered from a major creative block and had no desire to blog any of my outfits. My grandmother is fine to walk on her own, she's still healing but she's fine for the most part. I missed playing with my clothes and sharing my looks with you all, so glad to be back :)

Hey everyone, so I'm sure most of you have heard of the disaster going on in Japan right now. It was rather upsetting to view the footage of everything, it just seems so surreal, so movie-like. But it's completely real and it's very devastating. I can only imagine what it is like to go through that horror. Though I've been through some hardships, I don't really know what it's like to literally lose everything like so many people have in disasters like this. My heart goes out to the Japanese and all those affected by this tragic event.
I styled this outfit last night and prepared everything for posting today, but I delayed for a few hours to focus on the world's issues, as I felt it was unfair of me to post about clothes first thing in the morning when there is turmoil and more important things to be concerned about. But, life goes on, the shock is somewhat over, and here is my look of the day. The colors of this outfit made me think of having a bright outlook on life. Having such an attitude is so important, especially in moments like this where people are hurting badly. We need to band together, turn a negative into a positive, and help build a better and brighter future, despite the difficult obstacles we must face.
I love you all and I do hope that Japan will be able to get back on its feet.

So I decided to look more like my RL self today :D That means darker skin, and I love how I look with the Jeniffer hair from Lelutka (I know it's not new) because this is basically what my hair looks like out of the shower lol. The beauty of SL is that I can be whatever I want to be...and because I'm of mixed race, I identify with a lot of different cultures, plus I am fascinated by the world, so I'm often a different ethnicity in SL every few days lol.
Anyway, So Many Styles released some really cute items, including this shoulder bag and cropped top, both in several springy and bright colors.

Hey there everyone! Well I'm back home after an amazing birthday weekend in Connecticut!...I'm 22 years old now woohoo! I had planned to make a post with an outfit that I had saved before I left, but my computer has been giving me trouble, so hopefully I'll get it done tomorrow! For a style fix, I've decided to post one of the best RL outfits I've seen this month (in my opinion), worn by the absolutely gorgeous Camilla Belle (yes, I know there are similarities in our names and I look up to her style, but she had no influence on my SL name). This Jason Wu ensemble is a huge risk in that the top shows off her bare midriff, but it's done in a tasteful way. Taylor Swift fans, I don't want to hear that you hate her. This girl is stunning, and a whole lot more interesting, looks and fashion-wise, than Taylor, anyday. Hands down. As for what she "does in the bedroom" (I'm so tired of seeing this in comments pertaining to Camilla), who cares? I thought the Jonas brothers are saving themselves for marriage anyway. Btw, I only know this stuff because it used to be all over the tabloids. Otherwise, I could care less about Taylor and the Jonas Brothers. I'm not 15 years old.
Anyway, for the premiere of her new movie "From Prada to Nada", she really stole the show in this outfit. I mean, I'm straight and I could drool over her photos all day. Just, look.
Camilla is incredibly beautiful, and she has been making her style mark around Hollywood for a few years now, but I just can't get over this! Had she worn the ruffle top with just a mini skirt then it might not look as chic as this does. With the highwaist pants and tuxedo jacket, the bra top is just another part of a classic, with a modern twist. Ok, the concept isn't new, but it's not whorish either. Instead of wearing a normal bra or going braless, she focuses the skin to her midriff, and not all of it either. Her smokey eye makeup and nude lipstick are flawless, and so is her tossled hair.
All in all, this look is great. It has classic elements, but is super sexy without being trashy. It's daring, it's different, it's fashion!

I feel like breaking it down on the dancefloor, as I listen to Breaking It Up by Lykke Li. My RL birthday is Sunday (turning 22!) and it also happens to be Restaurant Week here in New York City. Please pray that I don't gain 400 pounds.
I decided to keep the look super clean and simple, with the neutral pattern of the TokiDoki dress for texture and interest. The top is part of Tee*fy's special at The Dressing Room Blue, and paired with the wedge ankle boots from Kookie, we've got a kick ass outfit with a bit of vintage flair for going out on the town.

There's something therapeutic about daily commutes in New York. I don't know how to describe it. Everyone just hops on the train and keeps to themself. They have a book, an iPod, a newspaper, whatever. Or you can just stare out the window or the ads or, if it's crowded, just stare at everyone's shoes. The noises and screeching of the train isn't bothersome, we just drown it out and let it be our music. And then there are the people who doze off or just pass out and take a full on nap. I just use it as time to get lost in my books. It's our urban peace zone, an unlikely place for tranquility...at least in my eyes it is!
BTW, I usually hate fur..I think most fur is tacky and ethically I don't really agree with it...but this is SL so I can think of it as "faux" and this shrug is incredibly chic and not a gaudy piece that makes me look like a bear...props to the designer! This bit of luxury makes my boho outfit look more expensive, yet on point with trends going on...*loving* the maxi skirt trend, so cute!
